Another reason to sell your home yourself and keep that equity where it belongs in your pocket. The new harmonized tax starting July1, 2010 means you will be taxed 13% on commission paid to a traditional agent. If your home sells for $275,000 you will pay $13,750 commission + the new harmonized tax $1787.50, so your total payout will be $15,537.50. It just does not make sense to give all your equity away. |
